Five Ways to Learn Gods Word - 08 Jul 02:11pm
·           Hear:
Be in church, be an engaged listener, take notes.

Luke 11:28-But He said, “On the contrary, blessed are those who hear the word of God and observe it.”

·           Read:
God gave His revelation in a book so we are compelled to be readers. It only takes about 75 hours to read the Bible aloud!

Revelation 1:3-"Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of the prophecy, and heed the things which are written in it; for the time is near.”
1 Timothy 4:13-"Until I come, give attention to the publicreading of Scripture,to exhortation and teaching.

·           Study:
“Bible study is more than just reading the bible; it involves careful observation, interpretation, and application. Reading gives you the overall picture, but study helps you think, learn, and apply what you read to your life.” Fundamentals of the Faith

Acts 17:11-"Now these were more noble-minded than those in Thessalonica, for they received the word with great eagerness, examining the Scriptures daily to see whether these things were so.”
Proverbs 2:4-"If you seek her as silver And search for her as for hidden treasures;"

·          Memorize:
Remember Christ’s confrontation with Satan (Matt 4)? What did Christ use to defeat the temptations of the Devil? The Scriptures! You and I can follow Christ’s example but it will require a mind filled with God’s word.

Psalm 119:9,11-“How can a young man keep his way pure? By keeping it according to Thy word…Thy word I have treasured in my heart, that I may not sin against Thee.”

·          Meditate:
Meditation is prayerful reflection on Scripture with a view toward understanding and application. Give prayerful thought to God’s Word with the goal of conforming your life to His will.
Meditation can take place as you: hear, read, study and memorize.

Psalm 1:1-3-"How blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked, Nor stand in the path of sinners, Nor sit in the seat of scoffers! "But his delight is in the law of the Lord, And in His law he meditates day and night. "He will be like a tree firmlyplanted by streams of water, Which yields its fruit in its season And its leaf does not wither; And in whatever he does, he prospers.”
